The DA2PP vaccine is the most easily recognized vaccine given to dogs. This combination vaccine is started at 6-8 weeks of age, and boostered every 3-4 weeks until 16 weeks old, then yearly. DA2PP consists of the distemper, adenovirus 2, parainfluenza, and parvo viruses. Although prevalence has decreased due to vaccine compliance, parvovirus in particular is still common in our area. Vaccination is the best prevention.
