Surgery

Here at the Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic we are able to perform canine and feline spays & neuters, mass removals, heartworm treatments, c-sections and declaws. Patients must be up to date on their rabies vaccine and have an exam and prior to procedures.

Prior to surgery, we develop a pain management plan for before, during, and after the procedure. The type and administration of anesthesia is determined by your pet’s breed, age, condition, and type of surgery. Pet owners receive written instructions regarding pain management and post-surgical care.

Before undergoing anesthesia, your pet will receive a thorough exam with laboratory testing and blood-work (if approved) to determine overall health and patient risk associated with surgery. During the time your pet is under anesthesia, our Licensed Veterinary Technician monitors heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and blood oxygen levels. Once the surgery is over, the patient is closely monitored until they are alert and fully recovered from anesthesia.

Patient safety is our priority for any surgery, whether a routine procedure, such as spay or neuter, or a more complex operation.
